VISION AND MISSION OF COMPUTER ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
VISION
To be a centre of excellence for developing professionals in the field of Computer Engineering.
MISSION
- Provide relevant knowledge and skill in the area of Computer Engineering for global employability.
- Be a facilitator for students aspiring for higher learning in the field of Computer Engineering.
- Develop innovative skills in the students through creativity development exercise and become a part of IT solution for the society.
Program Educational Objectives (PEOs) OF COMPUTER ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
- PEO1: Assist in software development projects to develop software solution for the benefit of the society.
- PEO2: To be able to setup and maintain computer and networking laboratories.
- PEO3: Progress through advanced degree of certified programs in professionally related fields.
Program Specific Outcomes(PSOs) OF COMPUTER ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT
- PSO1: Identify and troubleshoot problems related to hardware and software.
- PSO2:Develop and maintain software of medium complexity.
The Department of Computer Engineering established in the year 1985 with intake capacity of 30 . At present the department has capacity of 40 and offers Diploma in Computer Engineering. The department has well equipped laboratory with sufficient hardware and software facilities for the smooth conduct of the Diploma
course as well as different short term courses .
The Department conducts development programmes and workshops for both students and faculties in relation to the ongoing developments in the field of Computer Engineering, Science and Application and other environmental and social aspects. The department maintains a library for the benefit of the faculty and students in addition to the central library of the institute.
In addition to offering diploma and short term courses the department facilitates conduct of different online recruitment examination as per Government rules. The department is equipped with internet facility in the labs and faculty rooms which facilitates the academic and working environment.

Courses Offeres: 3 year Diploma in Computer Engineering
CURRICULUM REVISION
With an objective to implement NEP 2020 in Higher Education and the State
Polytechnics, with effect from the academic session 2024-25 a framework is
designed for the transformation of the entire Technical Education (TE) in order to
respond to the requirements of fast-changing and knowledge-based Indian society.
Salient features that were considered for developing the curriculum aligned to
NEP 2020 are as follows:
▪ Reduced number of credits.
▪ Introduction of Student Induction Program.
▪ Well defined learning objectives & outcomes for each course.
▪ Inclusion of courses on socially relevant topics.
▪ Built-in flexibility to the students in terms of professional elective and open
Elective courses.
▪ Mandatory internship to equip the students with practical knowledge and
provide them exposure to real time industrial environments.
▪ Virtual Labs.
▪ Mapping of Courses to its equivalent NPTEL/SWAYAM Course.
▪ Course on ‘Entrepreneurship and Startups’ to encourage entrepreneurial
mindset.
▪ Introduction of Design Thinking and Universal Human Value course.

The Department has a team of highly qualified, well experienced and committed faculty and staff and state of the art infrastructure to cater to the academic needs of the students.
Apart from the academic activities, our students are trained to improve their soft skills through personality development programs.
Besides routine academic activities, the staffs of the department conduct various computer based examination for recruitment at different Departments of the state. The department also maintains a Department library with sufficient number of books on computer Engineering subjects.
