ABOUT WORKSHOP
Workshop is a platform in touch with real industrial environment and hence it may be termed as the backbone of real industrial environment. The workshop of Assam engineering Institute has b passed through various stages of developments. Assam Engineering Institute was established in 1948 as " Assam Civil Engineering School” and actually it was the first- Technical educational Institute among the entire North- East States.
The course content “Basic workshop practice- I & II’ in semester I and II respectively which intends to impart various basic knowledge of various hand tools and their uses in different sections is designed by the “State Council for Technical Education, Assam” and implemented towards the aim to develop and achieve skills through the all 12 shops.

The students get opportunities for learning things doing and can able to gather knowledge by lots of job in the different shops. The shops are provide the following jobs for the first semester students.
