Mechanical Engineering Department is one of the oldest branch established in 1956 consisting of a total of 17 staff. Presently there are 7 faculty members and 2supporting staff. The department takes initiative in various activities like organizing seminars and sending students for training to different training centers for development of their skills.

Student Intake:

The intake of the department of Mechanical Engineering has varied over the years and was changed depending upon the need and demand. Starting from the original intake of 15 students in the first batch of the department, the present intake of the department stands at 45 students.(5 Nos. of Seat reserved for physically disable student)

Staff position:

Apart from HOD ,the Department of Mechanical Engineering consists of four Senior Lecturers, seven Lecturers , two Senior Instructors andone Junior Instructor. Most of the faculties are having Master Degree in various Mechanical Engineering fields. One faculty member has already completed PhD and few others in the process of completing the PhD.

Recent Developments(Through NEQIP and other Govt. Sponsored schemes)

A Computer Centre has been established under the Modernization and Removal of Obsolescence (MODROB) Project, grant given by the AICTE and upgraded it under NEQIP project.
Some laboratories have been upgraded with new modern machines and equipments under the AICTE sponsored MODROB project & NEQIP project.
Department has already started its activities for NBA with the help from NEQIP project. In this process, Mechanical Departments VISION, MISSION and PEOS have already been finalized and SAR completion process have already started.
Staff room development process is almost complete through NEQIP project. Two desktops and one laser printer have been installed in staff room with the help from NEQIP project.
One classroom has already been developed as a smart class room for Mechanical Engineering Deptt.
One laptop and one LC,D projector is already in use by the faculty of the department which was received from the NEQIP project.
Under institute industry interaction program with Indian Oil Corporation and Mech.Deptt. is organising Engineering Drawing classes for the trainee.

Future of the Department:
